Album Overview

Orange Fang Fang Boys – Bloom Romance

Romance exists everywhere — in a jazz bar from some distant past where ladies sit gracefully, exchanging elegant conversation, and in a modern rock club somewhere today, flooded with harsh lights and roaring sound. Bloom Romance, the 10th single by Orange Fang Fang Boys, began with a simple idea: what if the romance of these two eras could be summoned into a single piece of music?

The song was originally born from Kim Ansu’s jazz-influenced rhythm study, but through multiple rearrangements it evolved into its current form. During discussions among the members, the overall image of the track was described as “a rock band crashing into a jazz bar from the age of blossoming modernity.” From this, the title was inspired. The word Bloom, meaning a time of flowering, was chosen to carry a double meaning, leading to the title Bloom Romance.

Newly joined drummer Park Pyeonghwa leads the track by alternating between rough, driving touches and refined shuffle rhythms. Over this foundation, Kim Woojin’s bass delivers colorful variations, while Son Keii’s guitar melodies — at times sharp and neurotic, at times sweet and lyrical — complete the emotional landscape, attempting a crossover between rock and jazz.
