There are moments when our feelings, words, and expressions reach someone else, yet the response we hope for does not return when we expect it. DELAYS, the 12th single by Orange Fang Fang Boys, is a story about those “delayed replies.”

Anyone who has cared for or loved someone has likely, at times, wished for an immediate response to their own expressions. When that response doesn’t come, impatience grows, and doubts about the other person’s sincerity can quietly take hold. But as time passes, we often come to realize that the feelings had already been understood, that emotions had reached the other side far earlier than we thought. The answers we believed we never received may have simply belonged to someone living in a different flow of time than our own — small misalignments that, before we knew it, had already been returned through words, glances, and gestures.

Orange Fang Fang Boys translate this narrative into sound: drums that begin like a lonely cry echoing into empty space, panned guitars that repeat the motion of throwing out and pulling back, a bass that pours out notes with restless urgency, and a performance that builds toward a single thematic climax before settling into a calm, fading ending.
