Orange Fang Fang Boys – No One There
This is Orange Fang Fang Boys’ first release of 2024 and their 11th single overall.
No One There tells the story of the “loneliness within a crowd” felt by people in modern society. At times, we grow anxious under the feeling of being left alone in the world. Yet, when we quietly stay devoted to our roles and take a look around, we find others who share the same thoughts. One by one, we gather — and in the end, the theme unfolds through performance: that we are all living together, standing against a harsh world side by side.
Compared to the band’s previous guitar-melody–driven tracks, this song leans more heavily into rhythmic interplay. From the intro, drummer Park Pyeonghwa leads with a halftime shuffle, while bassist Kim Woojin drives the track forward, freely weaving rhythm, runs, and melody. Over the rhythm foundation panned across both sides, guitarists Kim Ansu and Son Keii alternate lead melodies. Beginning with the drum and bass solo section in the middle of the track, the atmosphere gradually intensifies. At the highlight, the overall rhythm shifts into a straight feel, focusing on expressing and exploding the song’s central theme and emotion.
