Kim Dooha × Yuko Katayama – Collaborative Film
A collaborative visual project between photographer Kim Dooha — known for his photobooks and poster works featuring Song Joong-ki, Park Bo-gum, EXO, SHINee, f(x), Red Velvet, Lee Jong-suk, Yoo Si-min, and more, and now actively working in Osaka — and Yuko Katayama, a designer in the advertising industry and a button artist with global recognition.
This film captures the meeting of two distinct creative forces: Kim Dooha’s refined visual sensibility and Katayama’s tactile, handcrafted universe built from a single material — the button.
Yuko Katayama – Profile
While working as a stylist in the advertising industry, Yuko Katayama began creating handmade pieces using buttons as props — works that quickly gained attention. In 2009, she launched her brand Cochu Cochu. Beginning with an exhibition in Paris the following year, her work was featured in major European media including VOGUE Italia and COLLEZIONI, establishing her presence internationally.
In 2013, she was selected as an artist for Alfa Romeo’s “I AM GIULIETTA. THE DRIVE ART” project.
Her 2016 exhibition in Brooklyn received critical acclaim, and in 2017 she was chosen for CHANEL’s Savoir-Faire Program, which highlights heritage craftsmanship and artisanal expertise. Katayama’s deeply personal and material-driven world — centered entirely around her devotion to buttons — continues to draw attention both in Japan and abroad.
While primarily active through curated gallery exhibitions, her work has also been permanently installed at GINZA SIX since 2017, further solidifying her position in the contemporary art and fashion landscape.
